Dataset Loading: Iris, seaborn, and scikit-learn

This page explains how to load the Iris dataset from seaborn and scikit-learn, inspect dataset metadata, and separate features from labels.

What you should be able to do
  • Load a dataset from a library.
  • Find keys, descriptions, targets, target names, and feature names.
  • Understand X as input features and y as target labels.
Reusable patterns
  • In scikit-learn datasets, data usually contains X and target usually contains y.
  • target_names converts numeric labels into readable class names.
